Elon Musk scoffs at Twitter’s court threats: ‘Now they have to disclose bot info’

Elon Musk is mocking Twitter’s intention to file a lawsuit against him after he gave notice that he would seek to terminate his acquisition of the social media platform.

Musk tweeted a series of comments next to photos of himself smiling and laughing hysterically.


“They said I couldn’t buy Twitter,” the meme began. “Then they wouldn’t disclose bot info. Now they want to force me to buy Twitter in court. Now they have to disclose bot info in court.”

The Tesla and SpaceX CEO also posted a photo of Chuck Norris staring down a chess board full of black pieces with one white pawn left. Musk captioned the tweet: “Chuckmate.”


One Twitter user wrote to Musk with a cartoon of Bart Simpson using a walking stick, implying that the Securities and Exchange Commission was walking blindly.

Musk replied: “100%.”

On Sunday, Twitter retained a legal team from New York-based Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz LLP with the intention of filing a lawsuit in Delaware against Musk by early this week.

Musk had filed documents with the SEC on Friday giving notification of the cancellation of his $44 billion offer to buy Twitter. In the documents, Musk accused Twitter of misrepresenting the number of spam bots on its platform.
