Vice President JD Vance is pulling up a seat at The View table on Tuesday, June 16, as a guest to promote his new book, Communion: Finding My Way Back to Faith.

This will be Vance’s first appearance on the show, becoming the third sitting vice president to appear on the talk show. In addition to discussing his book, Vance will also discuss the latest political headlines and the Trump administration’s priorities, according to an ABC press release.

The vice president’s new book, which will be released on June 16, explores Vance’s religious journey to converting to Catholicism.

“The story of how I regained my faith, of course, only happened because I had lost it to begin with. The interesting question that hangs over this book, and over my mind, is why I ever strayed from the path,” Vance writes in the book, according to a HarperCollins press release

Vance will join all six hosts at the table, including Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Alyssa Farah Griffin, and Ana Navarro.

The hosts haven’t hidden their feelings about the Trump administration, frequently criticizing President Donald Trump and his Cabinet in each episode as they discuss the political stories of the day.

Vance’s appearance comes after the Federal Communications Commission launched an inquiry into whether The View violated the equal-time rule after Texas state Sen. James Talarico appeared on the program.

The equal time rule requires broadcasters to provide equivalent airtime to all legally qualified candidates running for the same public office. Meaning if one candidate appears, the opposing candidate must as well.
